According to Nielson.com, Generation Y, Americans 18-34, are thirty-nine percent of smartphone owners, yet only twenty-three percent of the population. These young Patriots know how to keep in sinc with all of their Social Media accounts. It is very interesting to watch these phones evolve to serve their needs. How cool is it to ask your phone a question and it judiciously gives you an answer. My iPhone 4s is definitely not Gordon Gekko’s monster phone in the 1987 movie Wall Street. Now all we need is a hologram projector for our phones so they can stay in our pockets. http://blog.nielsen.com/nielsenwire/online_mobile/introducing-generation-c/
Smartphones and Tablets are changing the way we all interact with each other. The, so important, Business-to-Business communication has achieved new heights because of these devices. Not only do they inform and entertain virtually, they help the air we breath by saving tons of paper documents from ever being printed. My Generation X group, the 35-49 year old American Working Middle, owns thirty percent of that smartphone biz. We didn’t invent the Internet (That was Al Gore) but we are the first generation to utilize all the advantages of the Information Age. Connecting through work and play, we are driving the American Experience to a new and intersting prominence on the planet.

And us 50 plus folks are using them all not only in business but in our personal lives as well. Keeps me connected to my grown children, to reconnect with old friends and family and with each other. I find they have made all of us more aware of how different people do different things and that we really aren’t that much different after all. I also know that the old adage ” you cant teach an old dog new tricks” has fallen by the wayside with the advent of connect ability. I find myself learning more and more everyday and things that I would have never known are at my finger tips, of course verified by a couple of sources. The one thing the world has never had enough of is communication and that is dwindling by the moment and helping us all to understand each other in ways that would be impossible with out our electronic connection.
Oh yeah Mr. Rolston, that Generation X Group, I can tell you I am the oldest in the group …. but I am in the Group … Thanks for the feedback, HR Associates and I appreciate you insights.
This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of neighbors will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune Social is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
How come you dont have your website viewable in mobile format? Can not view anything in my netbook.
Sorry, Not cost effective at this point. HR Associates uses Google Analytics to track web traffic. Currently only 10% of the web hits come from mobile devices. We decided to produce only a mobile landing page with a mission statement and contact information. We will address your concern again once mobile is more prevelant in the Miami Valley and Midwest. Thanks for the feedback, it is appreciated.
